CLAUDIO COLANGELI

Main focus:

new TPA methods for separating external sources that contribute to interior sound field (e.g. wind noise, engine noise, tire road noise, etc.). Link between interior sound field and the exterior sources.

Project title:

Experimental methods for characterizing the contribution of exterior sources to the interior sound field.

CLAUDIO'S BACKGROUND

Claudio comes from a very nice village in the Abruzzo region, Italy, called Penne.
He studied Mechanical Engineering at UniversitÓ Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) in Ancona, obtaining his master degree magna cum laude in 2013. Thanks to a period of research at the Research department of LMS International (in Belgium) for his master thesis work, and to a further period of fellowship within a Marie Curie project called GRESIMO, always at LMS, his interest is mainly focused on acoustics.
In particular he focuses on NVH engineering of vehicles, applying sound quality, sound synthesis, sound intensity and sound source localization techniques to tackle noise characterization, localization and reduction problems.
In November 2013 he got on board of the ship of ENHANCED to begin the adventure of his PhD.
He will concentrate his research on experimental-based techniques to investigate the transmission of external noise sources inside the cabin of a vehicle.
